Return to your Essence – Retreat: Reconnecting with Your Higher Self

There comes a time when we feel the quiet call to return—not to a place, but to ourselves.
To the stillness beneath the noise. To the breath we forgot we were holding. To the essence of who we truly are. “Return to Your Essence” is a sacred gathering designed for women who are ready to remember. To soften. To reconnect with the elemental force that lives within: the womb, the heart, the breath, the body.

Hosted in the tranquil embrace of Bodhi Khaya Nature Retreat in Stanford, Western Cape, this immersive experience invites you to slow down, breathe, and gently return to your higher self. Across three days and two soul-soothing nights, you are invited to shed the demands of daily life and rest into a space where there is nothing to prove, and nowhere to be but here.

Through meditation, breathwork, womb wellness, journaling, conscious movement, and silent walks, you’ll be held in rhythms that nourish, restore, and guide you back home. From sunrise strolls through milkwood forests to firelit evenings under starlit skies, every moment becomes a sacred invitation to live with presence, wholeness, and intention.

This retreat is not a performance.
It is not a task. It is a soft landing—a homecoming.
A space where you are not expected to be anything other than who you already are.

We will gather in ceremony, remember ancient rhythms through the body, and honor our connection to one another, to the Earth, and to the sacred feminine that lives within all of life.

In a world that often demands we forget ourselves, this is your invitation to remember.

Meet Your Host

Khanya Duma is a spiritual guide and the founder of Rooted Rising, a sanctuary for stillness, inner remembrance, and conscious living. Her journey has been one of deep seeking—led not by doctrine, but by a quiet pull toward truth, peace, and the presence within. From a young age, she was guided by a deep yearning to understand the Divine, to live in alignment with something greater, and to experience a life rooted in truth, love, and wholeness.

Through personal transformation, silence, and surrender, she awakened to the understanding that we are not separate from the divine source of life—we are already whole, already home, in this breath, in this moment. We are already held by something vast and beautiful, something wordless and eternal. And it lives within us.

Her work gently invites others to return to their own inner knowing through retreats, sacred gatherings, and soul-led teachings. Rooted Rising creates spaces for people to pause, soften, and reconnect with the wisdom that lives within.

Her voice is gentle, but her presence is deeply rooted. She doesn’t teach from a pedestal. She walks alongside, as one who has done the shedding, the grieving, the remembering. Rooted Rising is her offering to the world—a soft place to land, to breathe, to return. It is a call back to the Self. Back to stillness. Back to the sacred rhythm beneath the noise. “This is not about becoming more. It is about remembering who you’ve always been”. — Khanya

Meet Your Host

Mponeng is a sacred space holder, intuitive guide, and fierce believer in the quiet revolution of women remembering who they are. She walks with women not to lead them away from themselves, but to gently walk them home—to their truth, their softness, their power.

She grew up surrounded by strong, kind, capable, and breathtaking women—the ones who “got on with it,” who bore the weight of life’s many demands with grace and grit. Women who carried households, communities, and dreams on their backs—often unnoticed, always unwavering. Even as a child, she was captivated by them: the quiet power they wielded, the magic they didn’t name but embodied every day.

A star-gazer with her head in the clouds, she lived for joy, for beauty, for meaning. Today, her devotion is clear—to hold space for women to return to themselves and to advocate for their leadership in the spaces that matter most: in the real economy, in the arts, in business, in life; birthing  ideas, communities, and change.

Through womb wisdom, ancestral knowing, dance, and deep embodiment, she creates spaces where masks fall away, where the body is honoured, and where truth can rise. Her work is rooted in the belief that when we begin to heal one heart at a time, we begin to shift the world—from cycles of survival to cycles of prosperity, from disconnection to deep knowing, from separation to unity.

She is not here to fix, to lead, or to preach. She is here to witness. To hold. To reflect. To remind you of your own brilliance, your own rhythm, your own return.

Because when a woman returns to herself, the whole world begins to heal.
