Men's Gathering with Niall Campbell & Lyall Sprong - FULLY BOOKED

March 22 - 24, 2024

  • R 4,000.00 – Program Price
  • R 3,500.00 – BYO Camping

Join Niall Campbell and Lyall Sprong for a Men’s Gathering Retreat at The Wild Pod from 22 – 24 March. The weekend will be an exploration of manhood as informed by land based traditions.

Our cultures are formed within Nature.

They are as ecological as a tree or flower.

As Life goes on, these forms and identities have appeared and remained. They persist and this persistence has something to do with surviving and thriving.

The landscape within which we find our meaning has changed.

We are no longer directly in the wild.

And so the identities of men and of woman have begun to shift.

With this in mind we intend to explore some of the following questions.

How do men become?

What do we place ourselves in relation to?

What are our values?

Have our roles changed?

What is the relationship between our nature and culture?

Over the course of the weekend we will sit together, play together, listen to different perspectives, tend fire and steam together (different to a sweat), as we both delight and explore what it means to be a man.

Through discussion, myth and activity we will track the individual and collective meaning of manhood, reigniting the cultural technologies of peoples who have thrived in Southern Africa.

R4000 per person, all inclusive of accommodation and meals. There is also an option to camp at a reduced rate. Please contact Lyall on 0834159947 for further details.
