7 Day Ayurvedic Retreat with Dr Zohreh Sadeghi
June 4 - 10, 2022
Completely reboot your system with Ayurvedic teachings and practices. A powerful way of living with optimum health & energy.
This 7 day retreat, hosted by Holistica Magazine, will give you a deep understanding of the fundamentals of Ayurvedic medicine including the body types or Doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), the connection between the body and the mind, and the basic principles surrounding the practice. You will learn how to live a life in balance using lifestyle, diet, internal herbs, therapeutic treatments (bodywork), and Yoga, meditation & Pranayama (breathwork).
We’re delighted to have famed Ayurvedic doctor Zohreh Sadeghi, founder of the Roha Ayurvedic centre in San Francisco hosting Holistica Magazine’s 7~day retreat at Bodhi Khaya, Stanford, Western Cape.
Ayurveda is one of the oldest holistic systems of medicine, it’s a lifestyle medicine that focuses on bringing balance and health within the individual—body, mind and spirit. AYUR means life and VEDA means knowledge, and so Ayurveda is the science of life, a way of living. It focuses on human beings as a whole recognising that all our systems (digestive, respiratory, immune, etc.) are interconnected. In Ayurveda we look at the root causes of ailments or imbalances to bring balance to each individual.
The Retreat will equip you with deep knowledge of:
• The Ayurvedic lifestyle: Dinacharya (daily routine) and Ritucharya (seasonal regimen)
• Ayurvedic nutrition: what to eat based on your Prakriti (body constitution) and your Vikruti (state of imbalance)
• Medicinal properties of herbs/spices to use in your food daily based on your Prakriti and how you’re feeling each day
• Therapeutic treatments: self-Abhyangas (hot oil massage) to do at home
• Ayuryoga (Ayurvedic Yoga), meditation, Pranayama (breathing practices) to help you achieve optimal health and balance within your body and mind
This retreat is designed similarly to a Gurukula programme, a practice from ancient India in which the students live in close proximity to the guru (teacher) in the same house to have direct access to the teachings and to their teacher. This will allow the participants to gain as much insight and knowledge as they desire from Dr. Zohreh.
